New Mexico was home to the Anasazi until their mysterious disappearance around 1300.  The Anasazi left behind an architectural legacy of large communal dwellings perched upon cliff ledges and atop mesas.

New Mexico is also known for the famous incident at Roswell.  The most credible reports suggest a weather balloon crash, though an entire tourism industry has been built upon the assumption that Aliens landed in Roswell, followed by a massive US military cover-up.

New Mexico's White Sands National Monument has sublime beauty and a famous history.    The states most famous outlaw is  Billy the Kid, shot down by Sheriff Pat Garrett. 

Home to many New Age devotees for whom the allure of the organic beauty of the landscape and the serene, enchanted spirit which seems to pervade this state.   This is also why so many artists choose  Taos and Santa Fe as a home for inspiration.
