Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad, operates the New Mexico Express from Chama to Osier, Colorado, where it connects with the Colorado Limited, which continues to Antonito, Colorado. All day trips on the old narrow gauge coal burning trains affordspectacular views of the rugged San Juan and Sangre de Cristo mountain ranges. Osier, inaccessible by car, is the transfer point for those making the complete trip and returning by van as well as the turnaround point for passengers making the round trip to their point of origin. Food is available. An overnight trip can be arranged. The train departs daily at 10:30 from Chama and at 10:00 from Antonito. Excursions return to Chama about 4:30 and to Antonito about 5:00.
