Eagle Nest is in Colfax County, and in the Northeast New Mexico region. To loacate Eagle Nest, go just northeast of Taos between Taos and Cimarron along US Highway 64 near Eagle Nest Lake.

Situated just south of the Colorado state line.

Eagle Nest Lake is a popular destination when visiting the village of Eagle Nest. The lake has a prime fishery for Kokanee salmon and trout.
