Memorial Psychiatric Hospital consists of three buildings _main hospital, school and power plant_ that were constructed in 1926 as a tuberculosis sanitarium complex. Later in the twentieth century it was purchased by the AT&SF railroad system as a hospital for its employees and families. The complex of buildings is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Memorial Hospital operates at a capacity of 58 beds. It has acute psychiatric services to male and female adults, adolescents and children. Additionally, it operates a 13 bed Residential Treatment Center for children between the ages of 5 and 11. All adolescent and child services are available to both boys and girls. Patients of school age attend an on-site school. In order to offer a continuum of care, Memorial Hospital also provides Partial Hospital Services to all populations and Intensive Outpatient Services to adults.
