North New Town Historic District

This district of stately residential structures, situated north of Columbia Avenue, from Sixth through Eighth streets, was built after 1890. These residential structures were homes to some of the city's leading business and political figures. Impressive buildings line the streets, including the classic stone Lutz/Bachrach house at the corner of Washington and Fifth Streets. Today, the district symbolizes the community's transformation from a Wild West town into an important center for trade and commerce.
