Mountainair Library, serving an area of 1,100 residents, has a collection of 1,320 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 1 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials360 video items, such as DVDs and VHS tapes.

Staffing consists of one employee, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $2,300. Patrons make 1,600 visits annually, and check out materials 3,800 times. Twenty-four percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
